Untangling the Mind: An Energetic Case for Talk Therapy

We often speak of healing the body or releasing stored tension from the energetic field—through yoga, breathwork, massage, or frequency alignment. But what about the mind? A common trend these days is to step away from talk therapy and to focus on the body; however maybe we should rethink this.

From an energetic standpoint, the mind can become tangled, much like a knotted muscle or a disrupted frequency grid. These tangles aren’t always visible, but they’re deeply felt. They show up as looping thoughts, paranoia, obsessive rumination, misbeliefs, or narratives built from misinformation. Over time, these patterns tighten—until clarity seems impossible.

Just like we work out physical knots with touch or sound, mental knots require their own form of untangling. And one of the most powerful, yet often overlooked, tools we have for this is talk therapy.

Talk therapy allows us to gently and intentionally unravel the threads of confusion, emotion, and story. With a witness—someone grounded, trained, and nonjudgmental—we can begin to see where the threads began and how they’ve wrapped themselves around our sense of self. Layer by layer, we speak it out, pull it loose, and watch the tension unwind.

Other modalities—movement, sound, breath—can shift energy and open new pathways. But the mind’s tangle has a language of its own, and it needs to be spoken. Not bypassed. Not silenced. Spoken.

Eventually, we reach a moment of crystalline clarity. The moment when the mind finally says, “I understand.” And in that understanding, something unlocks. There’s no need to go back and reloop the thought, because it no longer holds power. The pattern is clear. The knot is brushed out. The thread is smooth.

That’s not just therapy. That’s energetic liberation.
